About

My name is Simon Davis and I am a Washington, DC based writer. I currently spend most of my time writing about death and other morbid things for VICE USA in a weekly column called «Post Mortem», in addition to the occasional science related Q&A. Prior to that I wrote periodically about various topics for VICE USA and VICE Greece. I was born and raised in Athens, Greece and write in both English and Greek. In addition to VICE I have written for Gawker, Free Inquiry magazine, The Press Project–International edition, and EnetEnglish. My work has been translated in 10 languages.

This site began as my personal blog about modern Greek politics and culture. It was maintained with regular updates in English and Greek from early 2013 to mid 2014, at which time I began contributing to VICE USA more frequently. I don’t use this site to blog much any more, however it continues to serve as an archive of everything I’ve written.
